Ethiopia Guji 3 Natural Hambela – Coffee
Origin & Terroir
Grown by smallholder farmers in the Buku Sayasa community, Hambela District, Guji Zone, Oromia, this lot is processed through EDN’s Chelchele station. Elevations range between 1,900 and 2,300 meters, and the soils are rich, vertisol types, well-suited to heirloom Arabica varietals in a forested, biodiverse region.
Processing
This is a hybrid (washed) lot. Cherries are sorted and then fermented in cold water for 24 hours. They are subsequently laid on raised beds to dry slowly over 3–4 weeks, with frequent hand-turning to maintain consistency and prevent over-fermentation.
Notes
🍇 Grape
🫐 Mixed Berry
🍫 Dark Chocolate
These notes reveal a uniquely layered cup that is perfect for a cold brew or drip coffee!
Naming
Hi, I’m Eve—the tiniest long-haired hamster and self-proclaimed taste-tester on the block! Named after Christmas Eve, my Gotcha Day, I spend my time running marathons on my wheel, burrowing under my log cabin, hiding in my crab, and stuffing my cheeks with every treat my parents give me. Though I sleep like a lazy teenager most of the day, I’ve got the energy of a large cold brew when I’m up—bold, lively, and always ready for midnight sprints. This cozy brew is inspired by me, with a smooth finish just as cute as my chubby cheeks. Sip up, and let’s get squeaky! ☕🐹
