Nestled in the fertile Limu Seka district atop the Jimma Zone—southeast of Addis Ababa—this coffee is cultivated by smallholder farmers organized through Fahem General Trading PLC. The region’s rich vertisol soils and high-altitude terrain (around 1,900 masl) contribute to its unique character.

Processing Method

This lot is washed-processed—a method that carefully washes and then dries the beans, emphasizing clarity and brightness in the cup.

Community & Context

Jimma region, adjacent to Ethiopia's legendary coffee birthplace in Keffa, is renowned for coffees that are “snappy with sweet and delicate fruit flavors.” The area is also known for its “white” honey—floral and nuanced—underscoring the natural elegance and sensory complexity often found in Limu coffees

Naming

This coffee is named after the beloved Nova, a Stevens family dog. Nova was rescued by us in January of 2023. Nova is very much a husky with her attitude, talking back, and energy. Although she can be skiddish towards some, she is truly a lover who won't admit it.
